Components of a Burglar Alarm

Burglar alarms are used in houses, banks and shopping centers etc. There are numerous varieties of Burglar alarms but they all are designed to do the same job. The main components of an alarm system would be a sensor, a camera, a Motion Detector a buzzer a flash light and batteries.

Sensors

It is a component that is usually used to detect noise or a movement. Sensors are usually connected to the circuit. As soon as it detects the slightest noise or movement it initiates the circuit which results in triggering the buzzer and the flashing light.

Cameras

The camera as everyone knows, it is a gadget which is used to take a snap or video. You must be wondering why this is used for an alarm. Cameras help to show who and how many of them have broken in and hence resulting in identifying the burglar with ease.

Motion detector

This detector sends out bursts of ultrasonic sound waves and then waits for the reflected energy to bounce back. If there is no one interrupting the signal, the radio energy will bounce back in the same pattern. But if somebody enters the area, the reflection pattern is disturbed and the alarm sounded.

Buzzer

Buzzers are devices which are used to alert people that something has happened. These are set off as soon as the sensor or motion detectors give the signal to the circuits that something fishy is happening.

Flashing lights

These are powerful lights which flash in order to signal people that something is happening.

Batteries

Nowadays burglars are so professional that they do everything under the sun to burgle; they sometimes cut off the electricity so that you’ll not be able to see them and to deactivate the alarm but with improved technology and the use of Batteries it makes it impossible for them to switch off the alarm. Even when the current is turned off your bugler alarm still functions.

British Gas Alarms

BRITISH GAS HOME SECURITY

Home security systems alert you and your family to an intruder. British Gas home security provides an affordable service in home security systems. They are the leading suppliers of domestic Burglar alarms in UK. They lead the way, with years of experience in the professional installation and maintenance of alarms.

Security Systems:

They provide three types of security systems such as Intruder Response/24, Intruder Alert/24 and Intruder Alarm/24. They provide free parts and labor warranty for 1 year with no additional charges for call out and reset.

Intruder Response/24

The Intruder Response/24 system is connected to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) which monitors your alarm 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If the alarm is triggered a signal is sent to the ARC who immediately telephones your home for password identification and to check everything is in order. If you didn’t give the password ID, or the telephone is unanswered, the ARC contacts a key holder. From the event of a confirmed incident, there may be a possibility for ARC to reach the police.

Intruder Alert/24:

When the alarm is triggered, the system speech dialler automatically calls up to four programmed telephone numbers, including mobiles, with a pre-recorded message. External sirens are triggered to alert neighbours and deter burglars. This home security system is flexible and can be easily re-programmed with new numbers and messages.

Intruder Alarm/24:

The Intruder Alarm/24 triggers an external siren, alerting neighbours and deterring burglars. The mere presence of an alarm bell box on the front of the property acts as a strong deterrent. Convenient key fob device is provided to set and unset the alarm.

Alarm home schematics

Alarms produce different sounds based on its applications. Suppose if we use in home, it is very helpful to be used under various places. These schematics of usage are referred as alarm home schematics. Some of alarm home schematics used over here are Electric Field Disturbance Monitor, Doorknob Alarm, Freezer Over-Temperature Alarm, Doorknob Proximity Alarm, Fire Alarm and alarm for GPS Tracking System.

Home alarm schematics play a role in various fields. Electric Field Disturbance Monitor schematic is the power supply and front end sections of the field monitor. The system can detect human and animal motion by the electric fields they disturb.

Doorknob Alarm is used in many companies. It is a simple alarm device for personal use in bedrooms or hotel rooms. A metal chain attached to a box holding the electronics is placed around the inside doorknob of a wooden door. This circuit schematic would dramatically reduce the cost of the device and allows it to operate for many years from one set of batteries.

In Freezer Over-Temperature Alarm, the circuit turns on a beeper whenever the inside temperature of a freezer is greater than zero degrees Centigrade. The circuit draws only a few micro amps from a 9 volt battery. It uses a glass bead thermostat. In Freezing Temperature Alarm, the circuit turns on a beeper whenever the outside air temperature is less than zero degrees Centigrade. The circuit draws only a few micro amps from a 9 volt battery. It uses a glass bead thermostat. The circuit warns the user against fire accidents is Fire Alarm. This causes the resistance of LDR to increase and the voltage at the base of the transistor is pulled high due to which the supply to the COB is completed.

Burglar alarm Schematic

Burglar alarm Schematic

The three main components included in the burglar alarms are control panel, one or more detectors, one or more methods for signaling. The two types of connecting the components include hardwired and wireless. Wireless: Wireless burglar alarm is a miracle in the security system. It operates on specific radio frequencies. Wireless burglar alarm includes transmitter and receiver. The transmitters are attached to the detectors and the receiver is attached to the control panel. External sounders are hardwired to the control panel. Some more factors on Burglar alarms Schematic as below:

Hardwired:

The hard wired systems use multi-core cable to connect the various components. The basic requirements for connecting detectors to the Control Panel are as follows; Two Cores for the alarm loop, two Cores for the tamper loop, two cores for 12v power and more than one detector can be connected to an alarm loop. The loop kept as a single closed loop. Power to powered detectors must be connected in parallel. The external sounder requires five cores. The tamper loop is a single closed loop. The tamper loop is daisy chained through all the cabling, and devices on it.

The Control Panel:

The main function of the control panel is to act as a relay switch, to switch the signaling on when a signal from a detector changed state. Modern Control Panels use integrated circuits for switching. Modern Control Panels have a multitude of programmable features and includes eight Fully Programmable zones plus Tamper, four Codes, Accepts up to six remote keypads; Part set facility, Non-volatile Memory and Programmable zones.

Each Zone has a separate detection circuit. A Zone (if enabled) can have one or more detectors connected to it. Most types of detector connected to Control Panels are Normally Closed devices and are connected to each other in series. If any one of the detectors on the circuit goes Open Circuit (NO) the zone that the circuit is connected to signal the Control Panel. Control Panel reacts to that signal depending on the program of the zone.
