History of SDA Security Systems, Inc: SDA Security Systems, Inc. Started in 1930. When Harold Eales moved down from Los Angeles to San Diego then SDA was known as San Diego Burglar alarm Co. Harold stated his business alarm was so loud it “made you hair stand on end”. By 1948, San Diego Burglar Alarm Co. had grown, accumulating a two-story building downtown, a staff of three technicians, and with the latest equipment.
The company had hundreds of miles of wire running all over downtown. San Diego Burglar Alarm Co. had about 450 customers by 1948. Eales technicians could install three types of alarms adapting to fit the needs of each and every individuals. In 1965, a new member joined the company team Harold’s son, Rodney Eales. After many years of as one of the staff in the company doing installations, sales and other jobs, Rodney became the company president.
SDA Security Systems, Inc. has grown considerably from the time when Harold Eales operated out of his home and made alarms out of brake drums from old cars. Today they have over 5,000 businesses and hundreds of homeowners as their strategic safety team.
